Principal’s Message
Welcome back and welcome to our many new families! We look forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing at Eagle View.
This school year, we have approximately 230 children and 11 divisions. Yesterday, Thursday, the children moved into “permanent” classes. The staff look forward to renewing old connections, building new relationships and developing learning communities where all children experience success!
Please consider the following start up details:
- Your child will bring home a package of important forms. Thank you for reading, updating and returning the forms to Eagle View by Friday, Sept. 15
- Throughout the year, please check the website for information/updates about Eagle View https://eagleview.sd61.bc.ca/
We will be working to update and create a useful website. As this is a new task for some of us, we have a few technical hurdles to overcome!
- School Times:
¨ Monday 8:32 – 2:38
¨ Tuesday to Friday 8:30 – 2:38
Thank you for ensuring that your child arrives on time and is collected within 15 minutes of the 2:38 dismissal time.
- Attendance: Thanks for calling the school when your child is unable to come. A message may be left 24 hours a day.
- On behalf of PAC, we welcome you to join our enthusiastic PAC at monthly meetings. If you are unable to attend these meetings, there are many ways to volunteer … even for an hour or two. This year, PAC meetings will be held the second WEDNESDAY of the month starting at 6:30 pm in the library.
- Parking at Eagle View is a challenge at drop off and pick up times; please consider
¨ Walking or cycling to school
¨ Parking a distance from the school and walking part way
¨ Car pooling with a friend
- Please put Thursday, September 28 on your calendar! During the afternoon, the children will be participating in a fundraising “Walk-a-Thon.” This is also Meet the Teacher Night (5:30 – 6:00) and then a PAC organized family fun BBQ (until 7:30) to follow. Judy’s Snack Shack will be on site so join us for dinner!
- Other important dates include:
¨ Friday, September 15 2:00 pm Terry Fox Run
¨ Monday, September 18 Professional Development Day (no school in session)
¨ Friday, September 29 Orange Shirt Day
Yours truly,
Lois Bender, Principal
