Administrator’s Message
Welcome to October!
How wonderful to see the leaves changing colours all around us and to feel the warmth of the sunshine in these early fall days. So appropriate for the changing times in which we are living, but with a hope of new seasons to come.
First off, we want to thank everyone for being so understanding and patient as we prepared, planned, readjusted and re-planned to maintain a safe environment for everyone in our Eagle View Community. We appreciate the daily health checks you do every day and the rearranging you do to keep your child home when they are sick. Thank you also to those who are riding their bikes or walking to school. It has made a huge difference to the volume of traffic in the our parking lot. Each day, before and after school, our playground exemplifies physical distancing and mask wearing at its best. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for doing your part in keeping everyone safe, for reading the many emails and taking action when needed. We have received so many words of encouragement and kindness over the last few weeks and this speaks to the fantastic community we have here at Eagle View
Our website has been updated recently. Please check it out regularly for updates from the School District and look for links to the latest relevant health documents for schools. You will also find email addresses for staff and photos of our bulletin board displays. We are missing you in the building so we will do our best to put our hallways and activities online so you can be part of your child’s school life.
Last week we said farewell to Angelaine Bussieres who took a job at Mackenzie Elementary. We are also saying good-bye to Shelby Pollitt next week. She is heading over to our neighboring Sooke school district to be part of the Curriculum Transformation Team . We wish them both the very best in their new adventures. Please welcome Michelle Turner and Melissa Smith who are new Educational Assistants to our school.
Exciting times yesterday as Tour de Rock rode into our parking lot. We watched Mrs. Kennell get her head shaved and we found out that we have raised over $3000.00 to help find a cure for cancer! Donations are still being accepted online at cancer.ca/tourderock and type in Team Eagle View or cash will be collected at school on Monday after recess. Way to go TEAM EAGLE VIEW.
We are looking forward to the upcoming parent teacher interviews next week. You should have received a notice to be returned by Monday so we can schedule in your 15 minute zoom or phone call, one on one time, with your child’s teacher. Don’t miss out on this opportunity. We are still missing some Student Verification forms. Please return them to the school by Monday.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to a fantastic year of learning at Eagle View!
