Thank you to all our Cross Country runners for a terrific season. Personal best is the goal and all student runners improved…well done! Kudos to our coach Ms. Houldsworth & to all our parent drivers for making the season a success!
Also, thank you to the Grade 4/5 Soccer Team for their dedication and participation this season. Unfortunately, the Soccer Jamboree at Beckwith Park was cancelled due to poor field conditions.
House Games started on October 24 for all grade 3, 4 & 5 students. Students are placed into one of four teams (cheetahs, grizzlies, sharks, sting rays) and choose to participate in a fun activity at lunch recess. Participation is completely voluntary.
Swimming season has also started and Mrs. Wiersma, Mrs. Callander and Mrs. Legere are sponsoring the swim club again this year. Thank you to our school sponsors for their time, this opportunity is only possible because of their commitment! Student swimmers must be comfortable in deep water and able to swim 25 meters back & forth over a 45 minute period with rest breaks as required.
Please note that Friday, November 18 is a Professional Development Day so classes are not in session. As a staff, we are looking at strategies and methods of integrating the new curriculum into our existing practice.
Our remaining six classrooms were just outfitted in late October with wall mounted projectors, speakers and teacher laptops to align with the District Strategic Plan under Strategic Issue #5: Exemplary Governance. Now all classrooms in the school are operating from a place of equity for accessing & utilizing information. This will be happening in all district schools and classrooms. Thank you to the Board of Education & Senior Management for their leadership with this endeavor and to the teams of carpenters, electricians and audio-visual personnel for all their hard work!!
