Administrator’s Message
Dear Eagle View Families,
We can’t believe it is the 1st of May already. It certainly has been wonderful to see that sunshine! The weather will continue to be a mix throughout the spring and the children will be learning and playing outside at recess, so please be sure they are prepared with appropriate clothing for the day’s weather. Having a change of clothes in your child’s backpack is very helpful and please remember to bring your hats for those sunny days!
Track has started this month for our Grade 3-5 students and running club is back in action for all students, even our Kindergartens! Practices take place throughout the day during some recess time and class time. We look forward to seeing the students build their skills as we practice for the zone meet on May 27th.
We are fortunate to have your amazing children at Eagle View. We hope you enjoyed your child(ren) leading you through their learning at our student led conferences this week. Student-led conferences are a wonderful time for parents and child to celebrate their successes. If you were unable to attend, please connect with your classroom teacher for an alternate time. We appreciate your support at home to provide opportunities for your children to grow their literacy skills through home-based activities such as reading recipes, writing an aunt or uncle who may live out of town, reading the road signs, a visit to the Greater Victoria Public Library, really “the sky is the limit”, so please keep that creativity going!
Our Welcome to Kindergarten event is on May 11. This is a fun and exciting time as the new students and their families begin to make connections with our school community. We look forward to meeting them.
At this time, we would like to share that we will both be leaving Eagle View at the end of the year. I will be retiring and Christina will be moving on to Strawberry Vale as their Vice Principal. We wish her all the best in this new chapter. Christina and I will carry a deep appreciation for this wonderful school community. While change brings mixed emotions, we are pleased to welcome Mrs. Cindy Sanderson as Principal and Ms. Sarah Elford as Vice Principal and we are confident they will continue to lead our school with care and commitment.
Have a wonderful weekend and rain or shine—we hope you make time to enjoy the great outdoors!
Mrs. Relf & Mrs. Chase
