May 2025 Newsletter

May 2, 2025

Administrator’s Message

Dear Eagle View Families,

As we welcomed May this week, it has been wonderful to see that sunshine! The weather will continue to be a mix throughout the spring and the children will be learning and playing outside at recess, so please be sure they are prepared with appropriate clothing for the day’s weather.  It is extremely helpful if students have a change of clothes in their backpack for these moments.

With the start up of springtime sports and lighter evenings, please remember that getting enough sleep is essential for student learning and focus. Keeping a regular bedtime routine will help your child succeed at school each day.

Track has started this month for our Grade 3-5 students and running club is back in action for all students. The 800m practice takes place during first recess with the running club and the 100m and relay practices take place at lunch recesses and during gym classes. We look forward to seeing the students build their skills as we practice for the zone meet at the end of May.

We already know how amazing our students are and they sure showed us how amazing they are as they led you through their learning during student-led conferences last week.  If you were unable to attend at that time, please connect with your classroom teacher for an alternate time.  Thank you for coming out for your exceptional learners so they could demonstrate their learning and set new goals for the remainder of the year. We appreciate your support at home to provide opportunities for your children to grow in the school goals through various activities such as reading recipes, writing an aunt or uncle who may live out of town, reading the road signs, a visit to the Greater Victoria Public Library or “the sky is the limit.”  Keep that creativity going!

Our Welcome to Kindergarten event is on May 12.  This is a fun and exciting time as the new students and their families begin to make connections with our school community.  We look forward to meeting them.

Have a wonderful weekend and rain or shine—we hope you make time to enjoy the great outdoors!

Mrs. Relf & Mrs. Dann
