March 2025 Newsletter

March 7, 2025

Administrator’s Message

Dear Eagle View Families,

March has arrived!  Time is certainly flying by. We ended February with our Kindness Assembly.  Students in Divisions 5 – 13 shared their talents in words, songs and actions. They did a magnificent job!  It was so nice to see so many parents attending and see the happiness on the students’ faces as they performed for our school community.  A thank you to all the students and staff for making this a memorable moment.

Your child’s next Learning Update will be hot off the press in one week.  Students are currently reviewing the goals they set last term and reflecting on how it went and deciding where to go next in their learning journey.  Please let us know if you are unable to access Parent Connect (where the Learning Updates can be downloaded) by calling the office.  The children are encouraged to have a conversation at home about their strengths and stretches.  Thank you for reading the Learning Updates and for the support and encouragement you provide at home for their learning.

As a school we continue to work on our goal which is, “to support all learners in becoming proficient readers and writers by centering the learning around the students and by gathering and ongoing reflection of student data.” Data tells us that more and more students are reading at grade level or very close to grade level and beyond.  Some strategies that are promoting this goal are small class Reading Clubs, Every Day Reading Club, Side by Side Reading and our District Literacy Teacher visiting classrooms to enhance our writing strategies.  Be sure to visit our website to check out the fantastic writing bulletin board by Division 10.  I can’t believe these students are only in grade 1 and 2.  Be sure to celebrate the writing that comes home with your child, they are working hard and remember to Save the Date – April 24th – Student Led Conferences, so you see first hand all their hard work!

We want to wish you and your family a safe, FUN and Happy Spring Break as you enjoy time together with family and friends!
