Administrator’s Message
Dear Eagle View Families,
Here we are in June, can you believe it! It is very evident the year is coming to a close as students wrap up their learning for the year. Today’s STEM fair brought a buzz of excitement as many visitors arrived at our school to view the grade 4 and 5 projects. Thank you to the students and staff who worked so hard to make this happen. Field trips in and out of our school community will continue throughout the month, and we are grateful to our PAC for support with funds and busses. Our PAC also organized a fantastic Spring Fair, providing a wonderful opportunity for families to meet and chat while enjoying some games, challenges and hot dogs! It was wonderful to see the grounds full and filled with laughter and big smiles, thank you!
Another thank you to all who are participating in the “GoByBike” this week. It is great to see the bike racks full. Less vehicles on the road is helpful in many ways so let’s keep the trend going. We are also thankful to all our committed athletes who participated in our Zone and City Track meets last week. They all represented our school well and were brave to run on such a huge track. Way to go! This wouldn’t have happened without our staff who organized and practiced with the students and the parent drivers who cheered and encouraged them throughout each event. We are grateful to experience these community building events and gatherings to wrap up another school year.
Every June, we say farewell to our grade 5 students as they conclude their elementary schooling and head off to middle school. We wish them all the best in their transitions and remind them of the foundational skills they have learned in the last 6 years with us as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey. We are also bidding farewell to a few staff members. We would like to thank Mrs. Pryds, Mr. Webb, Ms. Neily, Mr. Morison, Ms. Krytor, Ms. Harvey and Ms. Belle for being here this year and for their dedication and enthusiasm to the students they have spent time with this year. We would also like to thank Mrs. Dann for stepping into the role of Acting Vice Principal. We were very fortunate to have her share her vast expertise in an administrative role. We also want to wish Mr. Borich a happy retirement at the end of this month. His contribution to education has left an impression on many young lives, filling them with good memories from their early years. You will be missed and we all wish you the best.
And a HUGE thank you to our wonderful Eagle View staff, parents and families. We could not do what we do without this wonderful team that makes up our fantastic school community. Thank you for showing up and contributing your skills and talents to make this the amazing school it is. As we step into summer vacation mode soon, please accept our very best wishes for an adventurous, safe and fun July and August. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on September 3, 2024.
