Dear Eagle View Families,
June is here once again and we started it off with a bang! Our PAC Country Fair was held last night and provided a wonderful opportunity for families to meet and chat while enjoying some games, challenges and hot dogs! It was wonderful to see the grounds full and filled with laughter and big smiles. A thank you to all who helped make this happen, your gift of giving to community is appreciated.
Another thank you to all who are participating in the “GoByBike” week. It is great to see the bike racks full. The hope is to carry it on next week where each class will do a “hands-up” survey each day to help us determine all the different ways we arrive at school. Less vehicles on the road is helpful in many ways so let’s keep the trend going. We are also thankful to all our committed athletes who participated in our Zone and City Track meets this week. They all represented our school well and were brave to run on such a huge track. Way to go! This wouldn’t have happened without our staff who organized and practiced with the students and the parent drivers who cheered and encouraged them throughout each event. We are grateful to experience these community building events and gatherings to wrap up another school year.
Every June, we say farewell to our grade 5 students as they conclude their elementary schooling and head off to middle school. We wish them all the best in their transitions and remind them of the foundational skills they have learned in the last 6 years with us as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey. We are also bidding farewell to a few staff members. Our Vice-Principal, grade 1 teacher and PE teacher, Mrs. Beattie, is moving on to Mackenzie Elementary. We have been very fortunate to have her at Eagle View for 2 years, although it is our loss, it is a huge gain for her new school. We wish her all the best in this new adventure ahead. We would like to thank Ms. Johnston, Ms. Dong, Mrs. Harcos, Ms. Sims, Ms. Bordian, and Ms. Morris for being here this year and for their dedication and enthusiasm to the students they have spent time with this year. We all really appreciated the cultural assemblies that Ms. Johnston and Ms. Dong shared with us in term 2.
And a HUGE thank you to our wonderful Eagle View staff, parents and families. We could not do what we do without this wonderful team that makes up our fantastic school community. Thank you for showing up and contributing your skills and talents to make this the amazing school it is. As we step into summer vacation mode soon, please accept our very best wishes for an adventurous, safe and fun July and August. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on September 5th.
