Dear Eagle View Families,
It is so hard to believe June has arrived and we are looking towards wrapping up another school year. As we reflect back, there are many things to be grateful for, especially our health, and the many memories that have been made.
At this time of year, we must say farewell not only to our grade 5 students but also several staff members. Mrs. Houldsworth will be leaving us as she looks forward to welcoming a new bundle of joy that will be arriving towards the end of September. We wish her well wherever she lands when she returns to work in the district. Starting this month, Ms. Dann, Mrs. Lamond and Mrs. Sharratt will be considering the many positions posted throughout our school district. We thank them for their caring touch and the inspiration they provided for their students this year. Mr. Galhon will also be leaving to his new school home at George Jay. He has been here for 2 1/2 years and has been an integral part of the team. His presence will be missed along with his energy and the fun he has brought to Eagle View. We wish him well and hope he can visit us now and then. We also have a retirement this year. Our custodian Mr. Viala will be heading out on new adventures starting August 1st. He has kept us clean, neat and tidy for the last 5 years. We will miss him and his outstanding care for not just the building but for others.
We will be welcoming Mrs. Beattie, our new Vice Principal, to Eagle View in the fall. She comes to us with a wealth of teaching experience from Macaulay. We look forward to having her here, so please give her a warm welcome when you see a new face in September.
And… we couldn’t sum up the year without giving a big thank you to all of our staff for their continued commitment and dedication to Eagle View. They have gone above and beyond this year to make learning fun and discovered different ways to make school work in these unusual circumstances. Together, they continue to uphold our school beliefs: Excellence, Academics & Arts, Global Awareness, Learning styles, Enthusiasm and Safety, which guides our students to be EAGLES (Life-long learners) for generations to come.
We would be remiss to not thank our wonderful Eagle View parents. Thank you for sending us your amazing children. They have soared like an eagle through this year, navigating the unexpected and sometimes uncomfortable learning journey that the uniqueness of this year has brought upon all of us. They make us all proud!
As we step into summer mode soon, please accept our very best wishes for an adventurous July and August. Stay safe!
