January 2024 Newsletter

January 12, 2024

Administrators’  Message

Welcome 2024!!

It has been wonderful to be reunited with the students again.  Although it seemed like a longer break than usual, it was great to slow down and take some time to relax.  The kids have been excited to see each other and are eagerly awaiting some snowy days.

With the new year arriving, it is a good time to reflect back and look forward to the future.  It is evident that the students are continuing to work towards the goals they set at the end of last term as each classroom has settled well and are focused on their learning.   If you have not done so already, January is a good time to review your child’s learning updates that were available December 15th and discuss those new goals for their learning this term.  If you are having trouble using the Parent Connect porthole, please call the office and we can help or even print a copy if needed.

House games are wrapping up next week and floor hockey will be starting soon with Mr. Borich.  At recess time, students in grades 1-5 will be welcome to come and shoot hoops in the gym.  They will need to listen carefully to the announcements each day to find out if it is their grade that day.

On the staffing front, Mrs. Archer our Vice Principal  will be on leave for the remainder of the year.  Our Inclusive Learning Teacher, Ms. Dann, has stepped up to be our acting Vice Principal.  She knows all the students and this is a great fit for our school.  Mr. Webb has moved from his Friday job in our K/1 class and will be fulltime in Division 4 until the end of the year.  Also, Thomas Cormier has joined us for second term as he works on completing his Educational Assistant certification.  He will be working in Mrs. Adams and Mr. Rutherford’s class alongside Mr. Ferris.

Just a reminder that on Friday, January 26th school is not in session for students. We hope the day can be spent with family and suggest making reading a part of your day in celebration of Family Literacy Day!

On behalf of the entire staff at Eagle View, we wish for you a healthy, joyous and adventure filled 2024!!

Sincerely,

Jana and Kathy
