April 2026 Newsletter

April 7, 2026

Administrator’s Message

Dear Eagle View Families,

Welcome Back!  We hope you had a wonderful Spring Break with family and friends and despite the rain were able to spend some time outdoors. Our students have come back energized and ready to complete their final term of the school year.  The students are excited to have the field open. It is always great to be able to have that extra space for the students to play.  A little reminder as the gloves and balls come out, please make sure they have a foamy soft center.  If in doubt, please ask!

We say hello to new practicum students: Leah Sotelo and Anja Vesterback. They both will be doing a six week practicum.  Leah will be in Mrs. Jardim’s class and Anja will be in Mrs. Coleman’s class.  We hope they will enjoy their time here at Eagle View.

We welcome Ava MacDonald as a permanent EAG and are excited to have Vishnu Rajendra as an EAG until the end of the year.  Vishnu has been with us since November and Ava comes to us from Tillicum Elementary.

Running Club will start on April 27th and Track will begin soon to prepare our grade 3, 4 and 5 students for the Zone Track Meet on May 27th.   Student Led conferences and the book fair will happen this month as well.  Be sure to check out Eagle View’s Art Gallery on bulletin boards throughout the school when you are here for the conferences.

Spring into literacy by taking reading outdoors and exploring stories that reflect the beauty of the season and our Canadian landscapes. Consider reading picture books like Birdsong by Julie Flett, which begins in spring and gently explores nature, relationships, and seasonal change, or stories like The Eagle Feather (inspired by Indigenous teachings) that connect to the significance of eagles and the land. These rich, place-based stories support our school goal of strengthening literacy by encouraging meaningful conversations, cultural connections, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

Thank you for sending us your best children every day! We are excited to see what Term 3 brings us here at Eagle View!  It has been a great start!

Jana and Christina
