Administrator’s Message
Dear Eagle View Families,
What a wonderful welcome back to school after Spring Break. Our students walked in with big smiles and stories of adventures. It was evident that many were able to spend time in the outdoors at parks and beaches despite the rain. Hopefully April Showers came early and we can look forward to more sun as we opened up the field this week. We are grateful for the increased play space at recess, lunch and more learning outdoors. A little reminder as the gloves and balls come out, please make sure they have a foamy soft centre. If in doubt, please ask!
The time has come to say goodbye to a few practicum students: Christopher Kellam and Adam Zacaruk have completed their final teaching practicum. We wish them well and are feeling proud to have been a part of their learning journey into a career in education.
We will be saying goodbye to Uche Etuokwu, an Educational Assistant, who has been working in several classes for the last few months. We welcome Andrea Lockyer as she won this now permanent, posted position. We are welcoming more new faces in our building. Teygan Phillips and Hailey Morgan are starting their first teaching practicum in Mr. Nast’s class for 3 weeks. We will also have a Music practicum student, Kyle Bates, working with Mr. Grieg on April 14th. Welcome to Eagle View!
Ready, Step, Roll continues to help us improve ways to get to school safely. A brochure is coming home today, “Plan Your Route” to help support more students and their families confidently use active and sustainable transportation for the commute to and from school. Our “Drive to 5 Site” is launching on April 11th with help from our CRD friends. Please check out the map inside the brochure for the location and plan on joining the fun that morning.
Running Club will start on April 28th and Track will begin soon to prepare our grade 3, 4 and 5 students for the Zone Track Meet on May 28th. Student Led conferences and the book fair will happen this month as well. Be sure to check out Eagle View’s Art Gallery on bulletin boards throughout the school when you are here for the conferences.
Thank you for sending us your best children every day! We are excited to see what Term 3 brings us here at Eagle View! It has been a great start!
