Dear Eagle View Families,
We hope you had a wonderful Spring Break full of all the things that bring you and your family joy with some relaxing mixed in. This week has been a bit dryer and we opened the field today! We are grateful for the increased play space at recess and lunch. A little reminder as the gloves and balls come out, please make sure they have a foamy soft centre. If in doubt, please ask!
Inside the school we have been fortunate to have many adult learners working alongside our great staff and with our outstanding students. The time has come to say goodbye to a few practicum students: Sogol Shafieioun and Thomas Cormier have completed their EA portion of their studies. We wish them well and are feeling proud to have been a part of their learning journey into a career in education.
While we have some goodbyes, we also have some hellos—as we have more new faces enter our building. Kaia Falcon and Kennedy Fraser are starting their first teaching practicum in Mr. Nast’s class for 3 weeks and Ader Yang will be doing a 6 week practicum in Ms. Moore’s class. We will also have an EA practicum student starting as well. Welcome to Eagle View!
As the weather improves, we are seeing more bikes and scooters coming to school. We love that our community is participating in active transportation. Please remember to dismount and walk your bikes while on the school grounds. We still have a lot of cars in the parking lot before and after school. Parking on Watkiss way is allowed as long as we keep the bike lanes free even though it says no parking. The Town of View Royal has been great in supporting getting students to school safely. Please remember also to use the crosswalks in the parking lot and not walk where the cars go. Keeping everyone safe is always a priority.
Running Club will start on April 29th and Track will begin soon to prepare our grade 3, 4 and 5 students for the Zone Track Meet on May 28th. Student Led conferences and the book fair will happen this month as well. There will be a little gift from our book club students and student leadership team so be sure to attend. Be sure to check out Eagle View’s Art Gallery on bulletin boards throughout the school when you are here for the conferences.
Thank you for sending us your best children every day! We are excited to see what Term 3 brings us here at Eagle View!
