Principal’s Message
Dear Eagle View Families,
“Generous” is the word that comes to mind when I think of Eagle View families over the last few weeks. We’ve had three fund raisers running back to back: The Terry Fox Run (raising $529), EVE Walk-A-Thon (raising a whopping amount!) and TOUR DE ROCK (The coins are still coming in!) Thank you!
Huge THANK YOU’s also go to many people including: our enthusiastic PAC; Mrs. MacDonald who organized both Terry Fox and Orange Shirt Day; Erin Houldsworth who has volunteered to coach Cross Country and Soccer. As well, she is getting our children to sing for joy in the EVE Choir. We also thank the many staff members who have joined learning committees to further our approach to Numeracy and Literacy.
We invite you to a few events: the Final X Country Race at Beacon Hill Park (races start at 1:00 on Monday, October 23); Gr. 4/5 Soccer Tournament at Beckwith Park (12:15 – 2:30 Thursday, October 26); Harvest Assembly at EVE (1:15 Thursday, October 26.)
At Eagle View, we encourage our children to be Respectful, Responsible and Safe at all times (see our Code of Conduct on the school website for details.) A few reminders where we need your help:
– Thank you for reminding your children to always use crosswalks and for always WALKING skateboards, scooters or bicycles when on school property. Our many little ones, including visiting toddlers, don’t expect these students on wheels to go whizzing by.
– We have very limited and short after school supervision. Please ensure that you have collected your children as close to 2:38 as possible. If students wish to stay to play after 3:00, an adult family member should be present with them.
Finally, as field trips start getting planned, we thank our parent volunteers!! Please note that all school volunteers and drivers must complete a criminal record check and submit a driver’s abstract. The criminal record check can be completed on line at https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/home.htm. The school access code is BN54MY5UEY. Once completed the criminal record check will be sent directly to the school. The driver’s abstract can be obtained by calling 250-978-8300.
