Dear Eagle View Families,
Here we are in November already and the rainy season is upon us. The students have been enjoying the outside recess time, acorns and leaves, dirt and mud, ditches and puddles. If you have not yet done so, please send a change of clothes for those times when the muddy buddies are just not enough. Also, a reminder that outdoor equipment used for recess is unavailable for afterschool play. If you happen to see any balls left outside afterschool, please return them to the office. When they are left outside they disappear overnight. We have just put new balls outside this week and would like them to last until our Winter Break. Thanks for your help with this.
Cross Country wrapped up last week with the final meet up at UVIC. Way to go runners and a HUGE “Thank You” to Mrs. Castellanos and Mrs. Jardim for sponsoring, coaching and organizing the runners. Next up is Running Club, which will begin November 6th at recess. This club will be open to all students in grade 1–5. Our kindergarten students will be invited to join in the Spring. The Soccer Jamboree was blessed with a beautiful sunny day at Hampton Park. It was a great experience for many of our grade five students, with thanks to Mr. Morison and Mr. Rutherford for organizing the practices and teams for the Jamboree. Black and orange day activities allowed all students to visit different classrooms to participate in a variety of Halloween crafts and games while connecting our students to other teachers in the school.
We want to thank our wonderful PAC for another successful Halloween Family Dance. The costumes were outstanding and the activities kept everyone moving throughout the school, while connecting families together as they laughed, ate and had fun. Our PAC plant sales close today, but you are still able to purchase Purdy’s Chocolates for another couple of weeks.
We will be having a Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday, November 10 and parents are welcome to attend. If your child belongs to Guides/Scouts/Brownies/Cubs/Cadets, they are invited to wear their uniform that day. Just a reminder that classes are not in session on November 13th and 20th, so enjoy the time with family.
Lunch time house games are coming to Eagle View soon. Thank you to Mr. Rutherford and Mr. Morison for getting this started for our grade 4 and 5 students. There are 37 excited students who have signed up, and more are welcome to join, for this new adventure which will be starting next Tuesday.
Have a great weekend and take some time to remember the good things in life, memories from the past and look forward with hope of good things to come.
