Dear Eagle View Families,
It is so hard to believe that we are in December and there are only two weeks of school left! Where has time gone? As the snow indicates, winter has arrived. Please take care as it can be slippery out there. Our facilities department does their best to keep up with weather conditions, but sometimes the weather sneaks in so fast it can be hard to manage. Please be careful on the blacktop area at the back as it doesn’t see the sun until later in the day.
As we head into the holiday season and bring term one to a close, we would like to thank the families of Eagle View for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at the Winter Concert on December15th. We also want to thank the dedicated staff of Eagle View who put their hearts into creating engaging learning opportunities, providing caring classrooms and playgrounds both outside and inside, and keeping the wheels on the bus going round and round! Together we are strong, so thank you all for everything YOU do!
Update on construction: We are looking forward to having the outside doors arrive before Christmas as they work towards finishing off the hallway to be safe enough for us to exit the building at that end. Electrical and plumbing is complete and they are getting ready to drywall and finish the insides. It is on track for a September opening which will bring new daycare spaces as well as before and after school care.
We have a few staffing updates to share at this time. We say goodbye to our EA, Ms. Maryam Zadehgholam, who has been a great addition to our team this Fall and we welcome back Lance Pickering, who completed his practicum with us last year. We have also welcomed Joanna Bordian, who is also an EA on staff.
On Friday, December 9th, report cards will be released. You will be able to view them through the “Parent Connect” portal, the same place you sign permission forms online. Also, Music, Strings, Learning Support and English Language Learner reports will come home in your child’s backpack on the same day. We are not completely paper free, but we are moving towards that by the end of the year. If for some reason you are not able to access the report card, or you need a second copy of the inserts, please call the office. Our focus on reading and writing continues, working towards all students being at grade level by grade 3 and forward, and writing with detail to convey meaning. We hope you enjoy reading your child’s report as much as we do.
Wishing you the very best this holiday season. Enjoy time with family and friends and be kind to one another.
Best wishes and we look forward to seeing all of you back in the New Year.
