Dear Eagle View Families,
June is here once again! We are grateful to experience some community building events and gatherings to wrap up another school year. This is a reflective time of year for educators and students. It is a time to celebrate the successes and growth that has been made, along with the wonderful memories that have been shared as a class.
Every June, we say farewell to our grade 5 students as they conclude their elementary schooling and head off to middle school. We wish them all the best in their transitions and remind them of the foundational skills they have learned in the last 6 years with us as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey. We are also bidding farewell to a few staff members. We congratulate Mrs. Kennell in her retirement after 39 years of educational work, 21 of which have been here at Eagle View. We wish her much adventure, relaxation and joy as she closes out a full career in education. We would like to thank Mr. Maida, Mr. Malm, Ms. Byrne, Mrs. Lamond and Mrs. McKinstry for their presence and dedication to the students and classrooms they have spent time with in term 3 and know they will be considering the many positions posted throughout our school district. Mr. Lopez has been a great addition to the Eagle View team this year and he will be missed next year. He has accepted positions at other schools for next year. Thank you for your hard work in keeping our school clean and safe for us to learn and work everyday.
In the Fall we will be welcoming Mrs. Beiermeister as our new Learning Support teacher. She comes to us with a wealth of teaching experience and we look forward to having her join our team. Please give her a warm welcome when you see a new face in September.
A big thank you to all of our staff for their continued commitment and dedication to Eagle View. It has been yet another trying year with many ups and downs and surprises along the way, and they have navigated it all and made it to the end of the school year with evidence of growth and learning for all. Together, they continue to uphold our school beliefs: Excellence, Academics & Arts, Global Awareness, Learning styles, Enthusiasm and Safety, which guides our students to be EAGLES (Life-long learners) for generations to come.
And a HUGE thank you to our wonderful Eagle View parents and families. We could not do what we do without your support. Thank you for sharing your precious children with us every day. We have seen tremendous resilience and flexibility this year and they continue to spread their wings and soar like eagles! Their learning journey continues to be unexpected and sometimes uncomfortable but they make us all very proud!
As we step into summer vacation mode soon, please accept our very best wishes for an adventurous, safe and fun July and August. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on September 6th.
