Administrator’s Message
Dear Eagle View Families,
May has arrived and we are still waiting for that sunshine to join us; however, the showers and cooler weather does not stop us from enjoying the outdoors. The running club is back in action and students are even faster than they were in the Fall! The parking lot running loop is open every day at first recess. We appreciate all of the help from the leadership students and Mr. Lopez who help track laps and keep us safe. We are seeing classes spending more time outdoors and we look forward to seeing those learning wagons out even more in the final months.
It was an honour to open our doors and invite all families into the school last week for student-led conferences. The students were excited to share their learning with their guests and it was a joy to hear all of the buzz and laughter in the building once again—something we have missed greatly! Thank you for making the time to come and celebrate the growth and successes with your child(ren). We hope that new conversations were had and students were able to reflect on where they started, how far they have come and set goals for the remainder of this year and beyond.
As the year comes to a close, be sure to take a close look at the school calendar as it will be updated with any upcoming events. Some of what there is to look forward to this month, include: Art Starts performance, middle school transition days, planting native plants at the BC Transit site, zone track meet, ProD day, and more! Please remain connected as we want all students to have the opportunity to access experiences that are open to them.
At the end of May we will be hosting our Welcome to Kindergarten event for students who will be coming to school for the very first time! This is such an exciting time as the new students and their families begin to make connections with our school community and will get to meet: the PAC, community service friends, the school support team and the K teachers. We are excited to be returning to an in-person event and cannot wait to greet our newest students on Thursday, May 26th starting at 9:30.
Thank you again for continuing to complete the daily health checks with your child(ren). We are grateful for everyone’s diligence while we navigate transitioning into what we hope is the “endemic”.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the great outdoors!
Mrs. Beattie and Mrs. Relf
