Administrators’ Message
Happy New Year & THANK YOU to everyone who juggled life around to make this first week of January manageable in these unusual times, yet again. We have a fantastic Eagle View School Community and appreciate everyone’s efforts and support. We very much look forward to seeing all the smiling faces back on Monday!
We hope the holiday season was wonderful and filled with quality time with family and friends, new games learned, and play time in the incredible snow that is a rarity here on our wet coast.
We would like to welcome NEW STAFF who joined our team in December. Ms. Thuy Nyguen will be working with the students in Division 9 on Tuesdays until Spring Break and Mr. Adam Maida will be starting out in Division 10 as Mr. Borich is on a leave until March 1.
The new year is often a time of reflection, thinking about where we have been and where we want to go. This is no different for our students as they reflect on their first term of learning and set new goals for second term. We encourage families to ignite these conversations at home by asking your child about what they can do, what they want to work on and how they plan to do that. These conversations often lead to interesting and informative topics that can help direct our students to new successes. Remember that classroom teachers are a good resource to unpack those conversations too!
Our staff are passionate about enabling students to grow and achieve their goals. Should the unexpected happen, such as potential staff shortages (functional school closure) or health authority directives (health closure) that may close our school, learning will continue to be at the forefront. Please review the letter from the Interim Superintendent that was sent out in a separate email today. This past week, staff developed plans for learning remotely should the need arise. Some adjustments have also been made to our health and safety protocols to combat the latest COVID 19 variant. You will find these updates attached to the email we are sending home with the newsletter. The key focus is for schools to reduce over crowding in common spaces. We will continue to make adjustments to these safety measures as needed.
Just a reminder that on January 28th school is not in session for students. We hope the day can be spent with family and suggest making reading a part of your day in celebration of Family Literacy Day on January 27th.
On behalf of the staff at Eagle View, we wish you and your families good health, safety, and to seek joy in 2022.
Sincerely,
Jana and Jordana
